I've been having fun....

I have been playing with paper trying to come up with a fun and easy make n take for my very first workshop on Wednesday. I've been a demonstrator for almost 2 years now, and am just now doing a workshop.....I signed up to be a hobbyist and get the discount, and now look at me....having workshops and doing clubs.
These are the cards I made. I'm not sure that I will make any of them for the make n takes, but I really like them. They all have a different look.
This one is one of my favorites, because daisies are my absolute favorite flower. They just look so happy.

The vintage style really seems to be popular now, so this one was going for that look. I noticed that some of the bling has already fallen off.
This card was not made with the intention of a make n take. This card is for a group swap I am doing at a Stampin Up meeting on Saturday. I had to make 31 of these flowers....lots of work. I really like it and I hope the other ladies do too.
I just made these for fun for the secretaries at school. I go back to work on August 31st and thought these would be cute filled with some candy and maybe a pencil. I made 12 of these boxes. I wanted to do something with the new cork we sell, and this is what evolved. I printed the paper from a website, but can't remember where I found it. If anyone wants that website just leave me a comment or email me and I'll look for it and post it in a later post.
Edited to add: I found the cute card I cased to make this box. You will find the link to the website to print the paper if you are interested. Thanks Lorri Heiling for a great card to case.

So, here I have all these cards and projects done, and still don't know what I'm going to make for the make n take.....that's so like me.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a happy day.

The last of my in the mail swaps.....

These are some more in the mail swaps I made. I signed up for another mail swap and these are the cards I made for it. We were supposed to use items from the new Holiday Mini catalog which begins on September 1st. This card used the new Level 2 Hostess set from the catalog and the Deck the Halls DSP with the new Victoria ribbon from the main catalog and the new Antique Brads.
The next card went for the cutsy look instead of vintage. It uses the new A cute Christmas stamp set, and the Cute Christmas DSP. Check out that sparkle on that paper. I love it.
Hopefully they like them. I can't wait to see what fun cards I get back in return.
Thanks for peeking in today.
I hope you have a happy day.

My first set of in the mail card swaps are in....

Yeah, I went to the mailbox this morning, and lo and behold my card swaps are there waiting for me. Previously I posted the 2 different sets of cards that I made for this in the mail card swap. I told you I would show you what I got in return, so here they are. I will list under the card who it is made by if they put their name on the card. made by: Jolene Gremmer
made by: Karen Gawlick....sorry this one is so blurry. I didn't realize it until just now. This really is a great card for a guy. And....my boys are just getting into golf right now....perfect!!!
made by: Kathy Herring
Sadly no name on this one.
This card is made by: Trisha Smith
Greetings Earthling also had no name on it....= (
Another great card with no name.
Again no name.
This Friends card had no name but had a blog. Click here to see her blog.
Last but not least....but again...no name.
The fun thing about doing swaps is that you get back cards that you never would have made on your own. I don't have some of the stamp sets that were used here, but now I have samples. You gotta love it.
Thanks for peeking in today.
Hope your day is a happy one.

Getting in the Holiday spirit

I have been playing in my stampin room the last couple of days, and having fun.
I wanted to play with the cute little Greeting Card Kids. Since I had made a Halloween card earlier, I inked up the cute little Halloween girl. Isn't she cute? I used watercolor paper, my aqua painter and random ink pads. Layered her on some Tangerine Tango, and then a layer of black cut out with the new Scallop Square die in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog. I used the wicked fun specialty DSP paper for the background and some black satin ribbon for the bow.
I wasn't too impressed with it last night....it was like 11:30p.m. Then, this morning when I went in my room and saw her again, I thought she was adorable. Funny what a little sleep can do for you. This one I can't take credit for....I made it, but I totally copied this idea from someone on Stampin Connection, a website for Stampin Up Demonstrators. Isn't it just darling? I used the new Spider Web textured impressions folder coming out in the upcoming Holiday Mini, and the Batty for you stamp set. I love those 3 sets of eyes looking around. Such a fun card.
I have also been making Christmas cards for an upcoming Christmas card class I'm going to have. Aren't they festive?

I love the fact that they are all simple, cute and easy to make. Perfect for a class.
I used the Jolly Holiday DSP, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive colors. Each of the Christmas cards also has a little bling....did you notice?
Thanks for peeking in today.
Have a great day.

I love daisies....

I absolutely love daisies.
I have had the stamp set Awash with Flowers for a long time, and haven't put ink on it for a long time. I decided to change that. I had seen cards similar to this before, and I just knew I needed to make some of my own. I ran some Whisper White cardstock through my big shot using the Top Note die, then just stamped the outline image of the daisy in black ink. I used Old Olive for the stems and leaves. I colored in the middle using my Daffodil Delight marker. I sponged the edges with some Chocolate Chip and used the Chocolate Chip marker with my color spritzer tool. I used the slot punch (so sad that's gone) and ran some Daffodil Delight satin ribbon through there and tied a knot. I popped it up on some dimensionals and laid it on some Old Olive DSP and had myself a cute card. I liked it so much, I made a set of 4 of them.
Then I figured why not make the envelopes as cute as the cards. I just stamped 2 of the envelope fronts with the same stamp, and the other 2 I used the remainder DSP and covered the back flap. Easy Peasy....and cute too.
Now I just need to figure out who gets em.
Thanks for peeking in today.
Have a happy day.

What a fun company to work for....

So, not only did I feel "loved" at convention from Stampin Up and all the freebies they gave us, but I just found this.....click here.

You just have to go and check it out. Every year at convention they have a new theme and theme song. These are the people that work at the home office.....which is an amazing place to work....it's beautiful and fun. They are actually dancing to the the theme song inside the place where they work....yes, that beautiful rock fountain in the foreground is inside the building. We got to tour this place, and I was soooo in love. They had a room which was 3 walls of just dry erase boards....the idea room....and they had us leave them messages. My message went something like this...."I'm from Anaheim and they say we have the "Happiest Place On Earth"....they are sorely mistaken....this IS theHappiest Place On Earth. Too bad the commute would be horrible, it would be a fun place to work that's for sure.

Enjoy the video, and plan to smile. I did!!!

More in the mail swaps.....

I thought I would share with you the other cards I have made for the latest swaps I signed up for. The swaps were for fall cards, and then Christmas cards. I signed up for 2 spots for both of them. This is one of the fall swaps I made. I really like how this one turned out. I can't for the life of me remember the stamp set, and I'm too lazy to get up and find my catalog....hahaha. If anyone wants to know them, just leave a comment or shoot me an email.Again, I had to make a total of 6 cards. And then I will get 5 more back.
This is the second fall swap I made. I'm not as happy with this one as I was with the other one, but it's done.
This one uses the Paisley Prints stamp set that is in the new Holiday Mini Catalog.
This is one of the 2 swaps I made for the Christmas spots. I won this cute little stamp set at convention. I couldn't wait to put it in some ink. I think this card turned out pretty cute. I really did have fun coloring these cute little guys.
Here are the group of 6 all cozy and cute.
I'm not big into vintage style, but I really do like this card. I'm also so excited because I designed this card without copying someone else.....which is what I usually do, then I give it a twist of my own. This one uses the Level 2 Hostess stamp set in the new Holiday Mini Catalog. Again, a free stamp set from convention. I love free stuff. The DSP used on this card is from the Deck the Halls DSP....also free from convention.....woo hoo!!!
It is just a back in Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand. Then I cut out 2 scallop circles in Always Artichoke and then cut out 2 smaller scallop circles with the DSP. I scored it in half and then cut away some of the scallop. I adhered it on the back of the Sahara Sand and then adhered that to the Cherry Cobbler. Then I made a belly band to keep it closed.
I used Cherry Cobbler for the belly band with a strip of DSP. Wrapped it around the card and then added the stamped image on the front. The image was stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Sahara Sand CS.
These are really a lot cuter in real life. I hope those that get these are happy with them. I'm really excited to see what I get back in return. Again, I will share with you the cute cards I get back.
Thanks so much for peeking in today.
I hope you are having a happy day.

More Convention Fun....

These are totally out of order, but you will still see all the fun we had. On Friday night we (all those in my upline that were at convention) got together for dinner and games....the fun thing is it was my birthday that day. I didn't want anyone to know because I don't like a lot of attention. But it was nice to be with a bunch of fun people for "my birthday dinner". Our table was a hoot. We got to laughing so hard, I thought I was going to pee my pants. Such a fun group of people. This is the other half of our group. Standing there is Lis. She was the one who headed this party up. She is my second upline....Interesting trivia....the pretty blonde lady she is standing by....her demonstrator number is #1. She was the first one to sign up to be a demonstrator. Crazy huh? I guess she is Shelly Gardner's Aunt. What a super nice lady she is too. All these ladies were fun. I love job being a demonstrator because you get to meet so many people and make some really great new friends.
This is Lis getting ready to start the games. I won the door prize, and tied for first place on the game. Happy Birthday to me. I did give one of the prizes to my new BFF Chris.
This is a picture of the convention center. You can see ladies just sitting down with their swaps laid out. People would walk by and see their swaps and then if they liked their card, they would swap with them. It was fun to watch and participate in. Some people are hard core.
This was one of the classes Stampin Up offered. It was so well organized. I have to tell you that Stampin Up knows how to do things right. At this class we were given 5 preprinted cardstocks with all the color groups listed. We went around the tables and for each color that Stampin Up has right now, we added a piece of cardstock, stamped a design with that color stamp pad, and scribbled a little mark with the marker for that color. Now we have a nice little sample of all the colors and what they look like. I will have to take a picture of mine and show you. It is awesome, and was fun to make.
This is a picture of some adorable curtains that were made with the new fabric line that is coming out in the Holiday Mini Catalog. They had this little kitchen all decorated so cute. I can't wait to show everyone the fabric and all the wonderful things they taught us to do with it.
This was another cute little corner they did to demonstrate the stencils they sell. This really was a darling little corner. Made me want to go home and paint and stencil a room in my house. You can see how they even took the stencil and made a cute little highlight above the mirror. The picture board was done up really cute too. They used the new ribbon in the catalog and the Vintage Brads to put it together. I just wanted that pillow in the chair....hahaha
My little grandson is really into Elmo right now, so I had to get this picture. Isn't he cute? Just done with punches and dies. I love it.
More pictures of my with my roommate and the blonde one with antenne is Sue. She was in the room next to us, and was nice enough to pick us up from the airport...since she drove instead of flew in.
I had so much fun with this lady. Chris is really a sweet, sweet lady. We are already planning on rooming together again next year. If anyone wants to make fun new friends, just let me know, because being a demonstrator will do that for you. I would love to have you join us next year. You can never have too many friends.
I could share posts of pictures from convention for weeks, but I won't. I have a few more I want to share and then I'll spare you the rest.
Thanks for peeking in again today.
Have a wonderful day.
