Easy Peasy

This is another easy and fun card I made for my birthday stash.
I used the Apple Blossoms from the Level 2 Hostess set and stamped it in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out. I then popped it up with some dimensionals, added a button with some linen thread strung through it, and layered it on some Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler. Simple and easy, but nice to have on hand.
Thanks for peeking in today.
Have a great day today.

My husband's birthday

Today is my hubby's birthday. This is not the card he will be getting from me, but it is a birthday card nonetheless.
I have been wanting to play with the new spinner cards.
I stamped it on whisper white card stock in Pacific Point, Real Red, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight and then cut out each little section and glued them together. I felt it would be easier to do that than use the markers....or maybe I was just lazy that day...hahahaha You can't really tell, but I also ran the Real Red through the Big Shot with a texture plate for some fun little polka dots. Polka dots say party to me.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a fun day today.

WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! & WOW!!

I think this is really a first for me. I'm speechless!!!! I really had NO idea that I had so many people that peeked into my little blog. I have had 4... yes 4... sweet, wonderful people award me with the Stylish Blogger Award in the last week. That's just crazy!!!

I feel so honored that people are actually out there peeking into my little world of paper therapy. So, to thank these sweet, wonderful ladies, I am asking you to go check out their great blogs too. They are:

Julie DiMatteo : http://www.thepaperpixie.com/

Chanda Stehlik: http://www.onecraftymommy.com/

Jennifer: http://www.punkydae.blogspot.com/

Sandy Dixon: http://mamia-stampingsanity.blogspot.com/

Part of the award is to do the following:
1) thank the person who gave this award to me and link it back to their blog

2) share 8 things about myself.....ugh!

3) pass this award to 8 other people that I have recently discovered

4) leave a comment on their blog so they can pass along the recognition.

So, to get the worst part of this over with....8 things about me.

1) I love to play with paper, but more than that I love being a wife, mother of 5 and grandmother of 5. My family is my whole world!!!

2) I work at the local High School and help with 3 different Science teachers!?!?! How on earth did that happen I ask myself!?! Why Science and not the Art department....hahahaha. I have worked there for the past 15 years, and was there while my 5 children went through high school. It was great.

3) I am a chocoholic!!! I do love my chocolate. yummy

4) I HATE wearing shoes!! My feet get clausterphobic! As do I actually. ; )

5) I have only been an active Stampin Up demonstrator for a little over a year. Before that, I was just a hobbyist. One day, I will become just a hobbyist again. ; )

6) I love to watch shows like: CSI, Law and Order, The Closer, The Mentalist....while I'm crafting. Oh yeah, and Survivor of course.

7) I haven't read a book since I started the whole Twilight Saga....great books by the way....which makes me kinda sad, because I used to read a lot. I just can't pick up a book lately to just sit and read for enjoyment. Weird huh? One day I will again.

and finally 8) I am very excited to go to Stampin Up's convention again in July. It is soooooo much fun.

Now, for the fun, yet difficult part. Fun, because I get to pass this award on to others, and difficult because....well, how do I choose only 8 wonderful crafters out there in cybercraftland?

So, my awards go to (drum roll please): Just click on their names to go to their amazingly "Stylish" blogs.

Birthday Presents

If you follow my blog and read any of my ramblings....hahaha. You will remember a few posts back when I said that I asked my daughter to go through the cards I made and pick out her favorites. This is the card she picked as her favorite. We almost made it for club Thursday, but I ran out of time to throw enough kits together.....Anyway, it was a BIG HIT!!!!
Everyone loved this card. It is so cute and look how easy and simple it is. What a great way to use up scraps too. I used the celebration DSP for this one, but I think any DSP would look cute of this card. I'm going to give you the dimensions for the presents if you want to make one for yourself.
The bottom red present is 2 1/2" x 1 1/4"
The middle polka dot present is 2" x 1"
and the top blue present is 1 5/8" x 1 1/8"
You just glue some ribbon on the top of the presents. I made a seperate bow and used dimensionals to put it on. I also popped the presents up on dimensionals too.
So fun, and so easy.
Thansk for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day.

The other door prize

This was the other door prize at club.
We learned how to make these cute and easy boxes a few months ago, and the next month we learned how to make the bows. So, I thought it would be a fun little reminder and have one as the door prize.....with some chocolate inside of course.... ; ) Here's a close up of the cute little tag I made for it with the Two tags Die. That little die is really a good die to have. You can do so many fun things with it. It's more than just a tag....it also makes some cute little boxes too. There are tons of tutorials out there in cyberspace showing how to make them. Google it and go make one for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks for peeking in.

Have a great day.

Fun door prizes

This was one of the fun door prizes I gave away at club Thursday night. It is soooo easy to make, and a fun little gift for a friend or coworker.
Here's a cute little peek at the post it note inside.
Maybe I'll post a quick tutorial on how easy this was to make just in case any one is interested.

Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day.

Nature walk with a twist

This is another one of the cards we made at club Thursday night.
I wanted to show everyone a fun new technique using the clear blocks.
See that crumb cake square stamped on that card underneath the bird, flowers and butterfly? Well, all we did was ink up the D clear block and stamped it directly to the card, and viola....you have a fun base for your card. We used Baja Breeze, Early Espresso and Old Olive for our colors. Then we gave the inside some loving too.
Such a pretty card. Funny story about this card too. I was showing my oldest daughter a bunch of cards I made and wanted her opinion on which ones we should make for club. When she got to this card, she said, "that's nice for an old person card". Well, all the "old people" hahaha loved it.
I won't be giving her this card for her birthday coming up in June....hahahaha

Have a great day.

Turning 40

Today is my brother in laws 40th birthday. He just seems to young to be 40.
I have a really hard time coming up with masculine cards too. We made a bunch of birthday cards at club this week because who doesn't need birthday cards right? We didn't make this card because it uses NON.....eww gasp....Stampin Up stuff on the front. The "40" are cut out using the new dies from Papertrey Ink, but I could have easily used some from Stampin Up I guess. Anyway, I did teach them the little trick on how to use the word window punch to cut smaller words. : ) This is the card we all made at club. I also wanted to show them that you can use that must have cupcake punch in the new Occasions Mini Catalog, with or without the stamp set. You'll notice on the card with 40, the cupcake is stamped and then punched. On the card below, the cupcake is just punched. I also have a fun trick with the cupcake punch to show you here on this little blog of mine. As soon as I get some pictures of it, I will post it.
This card uses the one side of DSP from the Play Date DSP that I thought I might never use. So, I was glad to find a way to use it.

Thanks for peeking in today.
It's cold and rainy where I live. How's the weather where you are?

Surprise card.....

How stinkin cute is this idea? No, I didn't think of it myself....do I ever? hahahaha But loved it when I saw it and had to make one. In fact, we made them last night at club. Inside the card is tucked a packet of seeds for the garden. Fun huh?
For this card you use one of Stampin Up's 3 x 6 envelopes and cut it at 4 1/4". I took the smaller part that was left and cut it to 1 1/2", but you could just leave it so it's longer. I wanted mine shorter. I punched for a cute edge and then sponged the edge with Baja Breeze. I wrapped a bow around the top piece and stamped the sentiment and attached it to the bow.
For the bottom piece I stamped it up with the Just Believe stamp and my markers. When it was all stamped up, I ran it through the crimper. When you do this, it shortens the bottom piece up enough that now the top piece fits nicely over it. You slide your packet of seeds inside, and what a fun gift/card for someone you love.
Try one yourself now.

Yep, more cupcakes

I just think there are so many cute ways to use this fun cupcake punch. You don't even have to have the matching stamp set to make adorable cupcakes. This card proves it. I really have been having fun with this Pawsitively Prints DSP lately. It sits by my desk, and everytime I look over and see it, it just makes me smile. So, I have to make a card with it.
No sentiment on the front because it's inside, but I forgot to take a picture of it.
I will leave you in suspense, and you can envision what you think the inside might look like. ; )

Thanks for peeking in again today.

Yep, there's even some more tomorrow.
Crazy huh?
Have a great day until then. TTFN

Nature Walk birthday card

I saw this adorable card on Lee Conrey's blog and knew I had to make one of these too. I changed the colors and added a layer, but it is so close to the original.
It's so simple, elegant, but cute at the same time. At least I think so. ; ) This card uses the new stamp set Nature Walk and that yummy seam binding ribbon in Baja Breeze. It also uses that awesome new embossing folder from the Occasions Mini catalog. If you don't have that yet, you need it. No, you really do!!!
Thanks for peeking in today.
See you tomorrow for another peek at something fun.

Best friend.....

I just love being a Stampin Up demonstrator and all the advantages it gives me. One of the many advantages that I get and LOVE, is stampin connection. It's a place where other Stampin Up demonstrators post cards they've made to give others ideas. This is similar to one of the cards I saw on there and loved.
This card was made by Kelly Rose and her blog is http://www.roseyscrapper.blogspot.com/ if anyone wants to go see her other cute cards. And like always, I had to give the inside some lovin.
For this card I used Crumb Cake for the base and sponged all the edges with Crumb Cake ink as well. The DSP is Love Letter. How cute is that little ruffle at the top of the card front? Just run your Very Vanilla pre punched paper through your crimper and attach it with some sticky strip. Easy Peasy, and oh so cute. I used Fabulous Phrases for the "best" "friend" words and punched them out with the tiny tag punch and attached it with a safety pin from the vintage trinkets. The cute little flower on the bottom corner is from the Punch Bunch stamp set and just layered not inking up the sentiment "for you". To finish it off, I added some of the smallest pearls to the center of the cute little poppy flower.

Thanks for peeking in today.

See you tomorrow with some more fun.

Fun Flowers Die

I love this new die from the Occasions Mini catalog.
You can get so many different looks from it, and it's so easy to use.
Here is the whole card. I also love the Play Date DSP in the big catalog. It's very playful and fun. Who doesn't like playful and fun?
I used the Lots of Tags die to cut out the sentiment. The stamp Enjoy for the sentiment comes from the You're a Gem stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog.
Super easy and fun. The Real Red corduroy button on the flower can be purchased in the clearance rack....lots of bargains there people. You should really check it out.

Thanks for peeking in.
Have a happy day.

It's all about the cupcakes....

I have been playing in my craft room this week, just haven't posted any of it. Most of it was Valentine's Day stuff for other people that I have already posted here.
I can't believe it's Saturday again already. I had fun playing in the challenge over at Stamping 411 last week, that I thought it would be fun to do it again.....so I did!!!
We are going to make a bunch of birthday cards this week in club, so I had cupcakes on the brain..thus the theme of this card.
I pretty much followed the sketch, except my bow is on the opposite side....oops.
I dressed my cupcakes up with some pearls. And the inside had to get some attention.
The card is pretty self explanatory. I used the colors Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz and Regal Rose. The ribbon was certainly celery satin ribbon.....love that ribbon!!!

Thanks for peeking in today.
Have a great day today.

Birthday Wishes

Hello there. I used to play along with card challenges all the time....then life got in the way. lol
I decided it was time to try a go at it again. So, this morning I played along with the Stamping 411 challenge and made this card.
I think it just looks happy. It made me happy coloring it in. Those flowers and the butterfly and bee are so springy, and whose not ready for spring about now???? I guess I can't complain living in sunny So. Cal, but I know others are done with that white stuff.
So, onto the card. I used the sale a bration stamp sets Sweet Summer and So Happy For You. I used Marina Mist for the base of the card and for coloring in the flowers. I just love how happy the color Daffodil Delight is, so I used it as well. We have so many birthdays coming up in the next few weeks, that I had to make the sentiment a birthday one. I kept the inside as simple as the outside, but had to give it some kind of love.
Thanks for peeking in today.
Go and make yourself a fun, happy card today.
It just might make you smile too.

With deepest sympathy

I absolutely love the tulips embossing folder. It just makes such a perfect frame for a card. I used Crumb Cake for the base of this card, and the DSP is the Springtime Vintage from the Occasions Mini catalog. The stamp on the Decorative Labels punch is the Baby Blossoms stamp set. The sentiment is from the Thanks for caring stamp set. The bow is the Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day today.

Thanks

So, while I was playing with paper the other night, I was on a roll with the Pretty in Pink thing. I saw a cute card on Angie Juda's blog and thought it would be cute to make for my new little stash I'm working on.
These two cards are what evolved. They were really fast and easy to make. So simple, but so cute too.
I used the Thanks for caring stamp set for the butterfly from the Occasions Mini catalog, and the So Happy For You stamp set from sale-a-bration. The little heart on the side of thanks is from the Hostess Level 1 set A Slice of Life from the Occasions Mini catalog.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day.

Build a bunch cupcake

I have been wanting to play around with this stamp set and punch for awhile now. Well, last night I finally got to play. Here you can see slight differences in the two cards.
It's nice to have a little stash of cards. Now, if I would just remember to send them.
I'm really bad about sending cards.....shame on me.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day.
