Season's Greetings on Halloween

I just love the elegance of this card.
I don't know about anyone else, but I always seem to overlook the cardstock selection on page 170 of the catalog. It has the gold, silver, glossy, and confetti papers.
Well, I finally bought myself some of that paper, and decided to use it. For this card I stamped the image with versamark, and then embossed it with gold embossing powder. I used some gold cardstock around it and also ran another piece of whisper white cardstock through the Big Shot with the Petals a plenty embossing folder. It was super easy to make, and is totally different from all the cutesy cards I have been making. I wanted to get a close up picture of how pretty and shiney the embossing is.
I do have to share a funny story with this card. I wasn't paying close enough attention when I went to attach the sentiment to the card, because I put it on upside down. When I went to open the card, I just laughed. So, I went to show my son how pretty the card was.....I know he could care less, but wanted him to get a good laugh too. So, he looks at it, and says, "Yeah mom, that's really pretty." I told him to open it up, and we both just started laughing. It was a good time.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a Happy Halloween!!

O Christmas Tree...O Christmas Tree.....

Isn't this a pretty card? Don't I copy someone else's designs nicely? hehehe
My hostess for club in November asked to make cards with the Paisley Print stamp set. We both saw this card, and knew it was one we had to make!!! I wasn't really sure on the dimensions of everything, and guessed a little short on the whisper white, because I needed a little more room for my sentiment AND a bow. So I will fix that when we make ours for class.
I wanted you to see that the velum was run through the Big Shot machine and the polka dots embossing folder. It kinda looks like snow.
I had to give the inside love too.
I really like this card, and must give credit where credit is due. Lynn Pratt was the one who originally posted this card. She is one of the most talented stampers I must say.
Have a great day, and thanks for peeking in today.

Gratitude & Appreciation for you

I saw a card very similar to this one on Stampin Connection and liked it. I thought I would create my own version.

It was pretty easy. I just stamped the image from Paisley Prints with versamark ink on the different colors, cut out the leaves, and glued them on a circle base I cut out. Stamped the sentiment on the background DSP ....that was NOT easy because the paper is textured....Threw on a bow and called it a card.

I had to throw some loving on the inside too. I just ran my wheel across the cajun craze stamp pad and ran it along the side. I also sponged the edges of the very vanilla with some cajun craze as well.

Besides the cutting out each individual leaf, it was fun and easy. I popped the wreath up on dimensionals too. You can kinda see that on this picture.

So, when was the last time you sent out a Thanksgiving card? I never have!!! I think it's high time I start.

Have a wonderful day. Thanks for peeking in.

The debut of the "N"...

As promised yesterday....I have for your viewing pleasure today....the letter N.
If you are lost and have no idea why I would post the letter N....go to the previous post and you will then understand.
I used the little oval punch from the Holiday mini catalog to make the cute little pumpkin. It really is cute in real life.
So what do you think? Are you glad I debuted the N? or should I have just moved on? hahahaha
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day.

Thankful....

I really liked the way the Merry Christmas banner I made earlier turned out. I have been wanting to make a Happy Halloween and a Thankful one since then. I have been so busy with my club class on Thursday and Christmas Card Stamp a Stack class on Saturday that I haven't really had a chance to make them. Well, last night I finally sat down to play and I decided that I would make the Happy Halloween next year since it's almost here and wouldn't get much display time this year anyway. I just moved right on to the Thankful banner. I decided to use some old coasters I had and used those for this one. I just covered each coaster with some Autumn Spice DSP and then used my leaves die cut and Serif letters to make this one. Below, I have close ups of each of the letters so you can see how I decorated each letter. These are really fun to make. Go make one for yourself tonight.

Edited to add: Yeah, I know the N is missing. It was there when I started this post, then when I was lining up the pictures ..... oops....it just disappeared. It was my favorite letter too.
I am too tired tonight to fix it, so I will just post the N tomorrow.
It will get it's own little post.....
Thanks for peeking in today. Have a wonderful day.

The jury's still out on this one.....

I'm not too sure about this card, but I thought I would post it anyway. I have 4 kids that work in the In n Out offices together right now, and tomorrow is Boss' day. So, my oldest daughter called me and asked me if I would make their boss a card. I wanted it to be wider than normal so they all had room to sign it. I saw a card like this when I toured the Stampin Up offices in Riverton in July, but there's was soooo much better. I feel like it needs more color.
I changed the stamp to say "us" instead of "me" since it's from the 4 of them.
So, comments and critiques are welcome. What on earth does this card need?
Thanks for peeking in!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Big Birthday Wishes....

Today happens to be the birthday of a good friend of mine.
She is always so good about doing kind things for others and sending out cards....she doesn't make them herself, but she is faithful at sending them out....I'm going to work on her about the making them yourself thing....LOL
So, I found my way to my stamp room and made this card for her birthday. I love the new celebrations DSP. It really is like a party in the package.
And I used the Party this way stamp set for the inside.
The candles are a little uneven, but I think that's what makes it fun about handmade cards. I'm a little uneven somedays too, so I guess my card can be as well.
Thanks for peeking in today.
I hope your having a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas Banner

I saw something like this on Stampin Connection and thought it was soooo cute I made one.
It stands about 4" tall and is 30" long.
It uses the Jolly Holiday DSP and the Contempo Alphabet stamp set. Isn't it cute? It was really easy and fun to make.
This would be cute for Halloween, Thanksgiving...any holiday. I think I might have to make one for all the holidays. It's just too cute.
Did I mention that I think it's really cute???? LOL.
Thanks for peekin in today.
Have a happy day.

Oval Pumpkins

This card was totally cased from Vicki Burdick. Her blog link is on the sidebar...It's a STamp Thing. She does great work. I changed it up a little bit, but basically kept it the same.
I think this pumpkin is so "festive" and was sooooo easy to make. It just uses the large oval scallop punched 3 times. I made my pumpkin with a curly que that was just a sliver of a piece of Old Olive wrapped around the end of my stylus. Cute huh?

Thanks for peeking in.
Have a happy day.

Grateful

This is one of the cards I made on Monday. I love this stamp set and was so happy to finally put some ink on it. I think this will be one of the cards we make for our stamp club this month. Had to give some lovin to the inside too.
It's nice to have all these "Thankful, Grateful" cards on hand. I need to send more of those out. I have a lot of people that I am grateful for and need to let them know.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day.

We make a living.....

Here is another fun creation I made today with some DSP. This uses the DSP from the Holiday Mini catalog and it is yummy. It has a great texture to it, and is really nice paper. This one is really simple and clean.
Thanks for peeking in.
I will have even more tomorrow.
So come back.
Have a great day.

Some things have to be seen.....

I have been playing in my craft room today and having sooooo much fun.
This isn't the best picture of my little creation, but I thought it turned out pretty cute. I just took the square scalloped die and cut out some cardboard and DSP leaving the bottom layer of scallops off so it will stand. Decorated it and through on the cute little saying and I like it. The only thing is....I wish I would have made the box a little wider. On the next one I will.
Trying to come up with fun ideas to use the DSP for a customer, and
I have more to show you too.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day.

Traditional or Cutesy????

Okay, I finally have my act together and have finished all the samples for the stamp-a-stack class. I have changed my mind....after brainstorming with some friends.....and we will be making 4 different cards and will make 3 of each card.
So these are the 4 traditional cards we will be making.

This is the extra one I added in.

And these are the 4 cutesy cards that we will be making. Again, you will make 3 of each of these cards.

So, what do you think? Keep in mind that I will have everything put together for you. All you will need to do is stamp, punch, and assemble....simple huh?
Also, if there is a card that you're not thrilled with, you can always change the stamp with one of the other stamp sets that will be out that day.
$10.00 for 12 homemade cards is a good deal. And, it's a fun day out to have some "therapy".
Let me know if you will be joining us on October 23rd from 9:00a.m. - 1:00p.m.
Please RSVP before October 16th so I can make sure I have enough supplies for everyone.
Hope to see you then.
Have a great day.

Shocker huh????

Can you believe it? I finally have some cards to post. My daughter almost has all of her stuff out of my craft room so I can get in there to create. BUT, in the meantime, I just had to play with some paper today. I decided it was high time I came up with the cards I was going to offer for my STAMP-A-STACK class the end of this month.
These are the 3 options for the "traditional" cards. I am going to work on the 3 options for the "cutesy" cards this week....hopefully tomorrow.
So what do you think? Here is the first card.
It uses the tree trimming stamp set.....that I got for free during sale-a-bration.....gotta love it.
the inside needed loving too.
And here it is with a decorated envelope to match.
The second card uses the new stamp set word play.
Decorated the inside using two stamp sets. The saying is from the Holiday Mini and is called Seasonal sentiments and the snowflakes are from the Hostess Level 1 set called Northern Hearts.
And here they are with their decorated envelope.
And...card number three. This one just uses the snowflake punch and the snowflake single stamp. It also uses the All Holiday stamp set for the sentiment. The inside look.
And with it's decorated envelope.
We are going to make 4 of each card in the class and the cost will be $10.00....it will NOT include the envelopes....CARDS ONLY!!!
So now I'm off to create some "cutesy" cards. That should be tons of fun.
I wish the weather was more Christmas like though, it's a little warm here in Southern California. UGH!!!!
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day.
