Curtain Call Act 3

Stacey hasn't had a Curtain Call challenge for a little while, so I was excited when she put one up the other day. I loved the colors she used too, so that was even better. I stuck with a sketch I used before because I like it so much. I just used Kraft for the base, Melon Mambo for the next layer with some Melon Mambo DSP on top of that. To get my Certainly Celery in there I used some ribbon, and cut out some leaves from my Stampin Up sizzix die cut. Then used some Very Vanilla and my Sizzix Build a Flower die cut. I added a random button, paper pierced around the edges, and it was that simple. I purposely left off a sentiment to be added later as needed. I am finding that I need a certain card and don't have one, but have tons of other kinds. This is my solution....for now at least.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day.

Karen Giron's SSSC34

I love the sweet simpleness of the sketch this week. There are so many different, fun ways of doing things with this sketch. I guess because I saw my pregnant daughter in law last night, once again I have babies on the brain....lol. From the picture it doesn't look like the colors flow very well, but in real life they do.
I have been using lots of "vintage", supplies lately, and it's been lots of fun. I mean I bought those supplies....way back when....ha ha ha....because I liked them. I still like them, so why not use them right??? Well, that's what I've been doing. This dsp is from Provo Craft. I don't even know where I got that stamp, but it's a fun one.

Thanks for peeking in today.
Have a great day.

Mojo Monday week 103

I love the fact that I got to play with the Mojo sketch on Monday. Now that I'm back to work, it makes it a little bit harder. When I first saw this sketch I thought, "Oh my goodness, what can I do with that?" Then, as I thought about it, it seemed rather simple. Sometimes I think we, at least I do, make these challenges harder than we need to. Actually, I think my problem is that there are SOOOOOO many talented people out there in cyber card making world, that I worry about my own skills. So, I decided to lighten up and just make it fun. I went with a Thanksgiving card. I used all Stampin Up supplies, and was pleased with my result.
Thanks for peeking in.
Hope you have a wonderful day and week.

Color Throwdown Challenge

Color Throwdown's colors this week were colors I wouldn't have put together, but that's what makes it a challenge right? I only had a small strip of Always Artichoke so I tried to utilize it the best I could. You can't really tell in the picture, but that is Always Artichoke....sorry.
Anyway, I'm not too impressed with this card myself, but it will have to do.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day everyone.

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

I absolutely love these colors together. This was a color challenge from Pals Paper Arts blog. I was struggling with a sketch for this card, but am really pleased with how this card turned out....but then, did I mention I love these colors together??? ha ha ha
There are some seriously old supplies used on this card. The flower stamp is an old one from Stampin Up and the Brocade Blue DP is ancient too.
Thanks for peeking in everyone.
Have a wonderful day today.

Raspberry Suite #16

I haven't done Dawn McVey's color challenge for a few weeks. I figured since I had all the colors called for I would play along. I kept it pretty simple. I haven't been in my craft room for over a week, so the mojo wasn't completely flowing yet. I used Kraft for the base, cut a piece of Summer Sunrise from PTI and found a coordinating piece of DP from K&Co. I cut out the letters and flower in Cream. I used a button from Stampin Up and the ribbon is just some in my stash I got from Michael's. I paper pierced around the edges, and called it done.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day.

Clean & Simple

I thought I would take a different approach. Instead of just showing you the sketch, I would also show you the supplies used in the card below....not sure why, I just felt like it I guess. :D
I took the Clean & Simple sketch and some paper from Me & My Big Ideas, Sweet Blush from PTI, Wild Wasabi from Stampin Up....{just spreading the love with the paper supplies...:D}
I punched randomly the flowers from the paper with my 1 1/4 " punch, punched some Wild Wasabi from the 1 3/8" punch for the background. I stamped Thinking of You from Hero Arts in Wild Wasabi ink. The hardest part of this card was making sure all the squares lined up perfectly. Easy Peasy.
Thanks for peeking in today.

Color Throwdown #57

Color Throwdown's challenge this week was to use the colors Certainly Celery, Positively Pink, Bashful Blue. Well, I automatically think babies when I here those colors together. I pulled out this darling paper by Paper Pazzaz, threw it on some Regal Rose cardstock...{sorry Positively Pink is retired...Regal Rose was as close as I had} and mounted it on Bashful Blue. I stamped a sweet little baby girl from a Technique Tuesday stamp set, cut it out with my nesties, layering my ovals...threw on a Certainly Celery ribbon and stamped Congratulatins from my Congrats stamp set from Stampin Up. I couldn't stop there because I am on a paper piercing kick right now, so I paper pierced the corners....Now it's done. My Stampin Up Upline is due any day, heck she may have had the baby for all I know. If it's a girl, guess what card she's getting????? Good luck Erin.
Thanks for peeking in.

Stamping 411's #114

I forgot to put up the sketch that we had to use for the Stamping 411 challenge this week....guess you'll just have to go check it out to see if I followed it correctly....{ha ha ha} This is what I came up with for the challenge. I used Old Olive and Real Red for my papers. I ran my Old Olive cardstock through the crimper, and cut it out with my nestie. I figured since it had the texture from the crimping that I wouldn't layer it. I cut out my ovals with my nesties too. I added some pearls underneath the sentiment for some fun. Added my ribbon, tied on a real red button with some twine....done!!!
It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner....Holy Cow where has time gone?
Thnaks for peeking in.
Have a great day.

Kindness....begins with me....:D

So, I was blurfing this morning and came across someone's cute card that they had made for Stamping 411's challenge this week. I stopped for a moment and tried to remember if I had done that sketch yet this week....well I hadn't!! So, off to the craft room I went. I really liked the sketch this week too. This is what evolved....
...I am really loving Kraft right now....don't know why....I just am. So, I found some Sahara Sand DSP, my white satin ribbon, my Define Life stamp set, and a random button....and there you have it. I am also really into paper piercing right now....So, I added that as well.
Thanks for peeking in today.
Have a wonderful day.

ESS sketch #49

Woo Hoo, I got to make 2 cards today and go to lunch and shopping with my mom. Now that makes for one fun day I must say. This card is for Tracy's sketch at eatsleepstamp.typepad.com. I haven't been able to jump into her sketches lately, so I was glad I had time today.
I've been using lots of "older" supplies lately and it's kinda fun. I grabbed some Groovy Guava cardstock and DSP from like 2 In Colors ago...who knows maybe longer. The sketch was sweet and simple so I wanted to keep the card sweet and simple too. I used my Oval All stamp set for the sentiment and just punched it out with my oval punch and sponged the edges with Purely Pomogranete....yep...older supplies. Added it to a scalloped punch and threw on a pearl. Easy Peasy and quick style.
Have a great day.
Thanks for peeking in.

Getting back with the Mojo

Last week while Mojo Monday celebrated their 100th sketch, we got to do a sketch a day. I was only able to make it to the first 5 sketches, and then life happened....lol. But it was fun!!! This week we are back to one sketch for the week. I really liked this sketch and thought I would keep it clean and simple....okay, mostly clean and simple. For some silly reason I wanted to use Kraft cardstock on this one. So, I found some coordinating DSP from Stampin Up, and some random paper that would go with Kraft. Since the random piece of paper had Bashful Blue in it, that's the other color I used. I cut out my ovals with my Nestibilities and free handed a heart out of Kraft. I took my Holidays & Wishes stamp set from Stampin Up for the sentiment, and stapled that on. {I have never used staples on a card before...this was my first time....} I had a heart shaped button from my collection from Papertrey Ink, and threw that on there with a twine bow.
I just paper pierced around the card and it was finished. I didn't want it to look like a Valentines Card, that's why I used different colors. It didn't take that long to put together either, I love that part.
Have a great day everyone.
Thanks for peeking in again today.

Mojo Monday day #5

I love all these fun, different sketches we have been able to play with this week over at Mojo Monday. Today I decided to take a look through papers I haven't used in a while. I found these fun papers from Junkitz. The circles I cut out with my nestibilities were actually circles on the patterned paper...perfect!! I figured since I was using older supplies, I would use an older stamp set from Stampin Up. Heck, this stamp set is so old I don't even know what it is called....{when I first started getting stampin up stamp sets I didn't put the labels on the plastic cases they went in.....um...duh Andrea.} I took some random ribbon from my stash I got from Michael's. I tied a knot and then took a brad from Makin Memories and wrapped it around the knot. I thought it would tie the black polka dots from the paper in quite nicely. I used my Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay markers from Stampin Up to stamp the balloons.
It's my brothers birthday today. I guess that's why I had birthday cards on the brain.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for peeking in today.

Anything but a card~

Pals Paper Arts' challenge this week is ..... Anything but a card. So much fun!!! I couldn't decide between two different projects....so I did both.
The first one was similar to something I have made and posted before. I took a notebook from the $1 bin at Michael's....pictured naked below..... ...and turned it into this. Again, I just typed up on my computer..."My fun list of things to do..." you could change that to list whatever you wanted... Cut it out with my nesties, added some paper, buttons and ribbon on the binding....viola. Much better don't you think??? I made a pen to match it and you have a nice little gift for very little money. Fun to make too. :D
Then, I discovered {much to my hips dismay} these sinfully delicious Snickerdoodle cookies from Fresh & Easy.....oh my gosh.....yummmmm. I wanted to take some to a neighbor friend down the street who I haven't visited with in a while....I needed a bigger bag, but this is what I came up with with what I had on hand. I would much rather give cookies to someone delivered cute and fun.....not necessary, just more fun is all. To give someone just one of these cookies really is mean....it's like a little tease....ha ha ha. I didn't use Stampin Up paper for my Top Note Die because I already had this cut out and sitting on my desk. Also, my just for you stamp is from Hero Arts....I just realized that....but this could all be changed our for Stampin Up supplies very easily.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day.

Mojo Monday day #4

I have had more fun playing each day. I don't know why....I mean there's challenges all over out there, but there's something about mojo monday every day that just makes it fun....silly I know.
Anyway, on to the card. I had so much paper on my desk from previous projects. I decided to put them away before starting a new one. While I was doing this, I had Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Old Olive and Night of Navy piled together....OMGosh, I loved them together and decided to just use them on my next card. I never would have put these together without seeing them together like that....I love that about crafting.
I did forget to add a bow or something in the bottom right hand corner, oh well....close is good right???? I really had fun with this one....again, why I'm not sure....I just did.
Thanks for peeking in everyone.
Have a wonderful day....we're almost at the weekend.

Color Throwdown Challenge

Well I tried to handle these colors. These are the colors for the Color Throwdown challenge for the week. I do like them together, even though I don't necessarily care for the colors in particular. Does that make any sense? Anyway, I decided to not reinvent the wheel. I took a card from the Stampin Up catalog (page 197) and recreated it in these colors. I don't think I like it too much....maybe there is something to reinventing the wheel...:D
So, I have/had a Sizzix Sidekick that I used to cut my sizzlets. Well, when I was running the leaves through they didn't make a clean cut, so I went to cut out another one. I thought I should put a piece of cardstock in there to help make the cut crisper (like a shim). Well....
I guess it was too much. It is completely stuck in there now. I mean it is stuck in there....NOT coming out!!! The most frustrating part of it all is that my leaf sizzlet is still in there....UGH!!
So, I had to just make do with the leaves that weren't cut clean. Guess I'm done making cards for today. I'm not in the mood to deal with this right now....ha ha ha
Have a wonderful day today everyone.
Thanks for visiting and hanging in there with all my drama... :D

Mojo Monday day #3

Here we are at Wednesday, day #3, for Mojo Monday's 100th celebration. It has been tons of fun to have a new sketch everyday. I realize there are tons of sketch or color challenges out there. It's just fun to do one every day for Mojo Monday.
I got out my box of K&Co papers my mom gave me a while back, and just picked out some fun papers. These were fun to play with too. I never would have put So Saffron and Cranberry Crisp together, but that's what the colors were in one of the papers, so I did it. This card looks so much better in real life. I'm not the best photographer...maybe some day.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday.
Thanks for peeking in, and for anyone that leaves me a comment....I just want to say "THANKS". To me comments are like little {{{cyber hugs}}}.

Mojo Monday day #2

Mojo Monday is celebrating their 100th sketch with a sketch each day this week. Fun!!!
So, here is my card for the day from the sketch of the day.
I love that DSP and am sad it's retired. Still love to use it though.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Thanks for peeking in today.

Baby Surprise.....

So, yesterday my son Jeff and his wife Nicole stopped by our house. They were there before I got home from church. They told me to check out something on the internet, and I went over to find this wonderful picture as my new screensaver. I looked at them and asked if it meant what I thought it meant, and they had a grin from ear to ear. So, I'm going to be a grandma again. I am sooooooo excited. This will be their first baby. So, needless to say, as I approached this Mojo Monday Sketch I had babies on the brain.

This is the card that evolved from my thinking process. It doesn't mean I'm hoping for a boy. I just had some cute little boy paper close to my desk is all.
Joy is the perfect emotion to describe how I feel right now.
Have a great day everyone.
Thanks for peeking in.

Boo!!!!

Karen got a little crazy on us this week with her sketch...lol. She has all kinds of layers on this sketch. I thought it would be fun to use some of my halloween paper for this one.
I heat embossed the word BOO on the card. So, I thought it would be fun to heat emboss the sentiment on the inside of the card too.

I can't believe that Fall is almost here. Where did Summer go?
Thanks for peeking in today.
Have a wonderful day.

Clean & Simple....

I thought I would try a new sketch challenge that I have never done before. I saw an adorable card LeAnne made (click here to see it) using a clean and simple sketch and I loved it. I love discovering new challenges that are fun.

This is pretty darn clean and simple. I really like cards with lots of layers and ribbon or buttons, but this was fun to do too.

Thanks for peeking in today.

Have a wonderful day everyone.
