Sweet Sunday Sketch

I have been toying with this sketch for about a week. I actually had something else in mind, but while blurfing I saw something very similar to what I had in mind....so I changed it.
This card is nothing to get all excited about. It's not my favorite I've ever made, but it will work.
I purposely left off a sentiment, so I could just add whatever was needed when I decided to send this card. To check out the sketch for yourself, and I suggest you do....click here.
I can't believe that tomorrow is Thursday already....crazy.
Thanks for peeking in. Have a great day.

Mojo Monday on a Monday

Too bad I don't have every Monday off work like today, so I can do the Mojo Monday challenge first thing Monday morning. That was lots of fun to do.
BTW a great BIG THANK YOU goes out to all those who have served, are serving, or have a loved one serving or served this wonderful FREE country in which I happen to live. Happy Memorial's Day to everyone!!!
I was going to go with stars for this card, to honor today, but I just love this Rockabilly paper right now and the cherries. As you can see, the cherries won out.

I will truly be sad when this paper is gone. But, in true Stampin Up tradition, they will have another paper that we will all fall in love with again.
Thanks for peeking in. I hope all you Americans are having a memorial Memorial's Day!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge

These are such elegant colors together. Almost the same colors my daughter in law and son had at their wedding, and it was beautiful!!!!

I added a little bit of bling and some sparkly to this card to glam it up a bit.
These were fun colors to work with, and a fun card to make.
Thanks for peeking in. I hope you're getting a little time today to do something you find fun and relaxing.

You brighten my day

These sure seem like fun summer colors to me. So, I choose to keep it simple and clean. For some reason, this card reminds me of sheets hanging out on a clothesline to dry in the warm summer breeze.

I wanted the black color to be subtle. I have been seeing lots of doodling on cards lately, and I LOVE IT!!! So, that's where I decided to use my black for this challenge. I just doodled on the edge of the card.
Thanks for peeking in. Have a wonderful day!!

KWerner Color Challenge

Why is it that when a color you don't use very often is thrown into a color challenge, it throws me for a loop? It's a challenge after all, shouldn't I just embrace that new unfamiliar color with excitement and not dread???
You'll notice I have waited until the last minute for this challenge. That more mustard just throws me off for some reason. Yet, I look at others creations, and love what they did with more mustard on their card. Anyway....blah, blah, blah...on to the card.
That tiny little stamp is my more mustard, but hey, I got it in there didn't I?
I sometimes think less is more, and like clean and simple, but I couldn't resist the little bit of bling on the center of the flowers and had to add some pearls. I thought it finished the card off nicely.

I used Baja Breeze card stock for my base. I am loving my Sweet Slumber DSP, and threw that on. In fact, that was the only sand color anything I could find. I used my So Saffron ribbon, and stamped my thank you with More Mustard, added some little flowers with Baja Breeze. While I had the little flower out, I just added some little flowers to the side of the Baja Breeze, added a little white dot with my gel ink pen. And Viola, not so hard after all.

Thanks for peeking in. Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Mojo Monday #87

Okay, so I am a great one to copy and give it a twist. I also believe in giving credit where credit is due. With that said, I got my inspiration for this card from this card here.
I just fell in love with this card and thought of a way to work it into the Mojo Monday sketch....I think it worked.

Not the best picture in the world, but I'm still working on that. The fact that I took the picture late at night doesn't help.
Thanks for peeking in everyone. I hope your day is wonderful and a happy one.

Color Throwdown Challenge

So this is what happens when you have a limited supply of Tempting Turquoise....
I am not very thrilled with this card. It was fine....until I put crystal effects on the daisies....should've stopped while I was ahead....oh well. You can't see it in the photo, but there is paper piercing arond the black and in the corners....still didn't help....ha ha ha
Oh well....we can't have it right all the time right???

I did still have fun playing with paper though.

Dawn McVey's week #6

So, I was going to get off the computer and go get some housework done.....but wait....oh no, I see that Dawn McVey has posted yet another color challenge. How on earth can I concentrate on housework when there's a challenge lurking in the back of my mind???? So, off to the craftroom I went.
I decided to keep this one short, sweet and to the point. I pulled out the colors needed....well I didn't have PTI Aqua Mist, so I substituted it with Stampin Ups Cool Carribean from 2007, grabbed my PTI Polka Dot Basics stamp set and this is what emerged. It was fun to use some of my PTI supplies.

I had to add a little bling to the butterfly. Thanks for peeking in. Make it a great day.
{Now I am going to go do housework whether I like it or not....errrr}

A Daisy Explosion

Okay, so I realize in the sketch that there are 5 circles....yes I know how to count, I just couldn't get all 5 on with this card, I tried to add more flowers and it just looked like a daisy explosion so I left it at 3. Again, another thank you card with daisies....I am having tons of fun with this daisy die. Those corduroy buttons are lots of fun too.
Thanks for peeking in. Have a wonderful Saturday....now I'm off to go do boring things like vacuum, fold clothes, dishes, wash windows....well you get the idea.

Taylor's TECC68 sketch

Okay, I'm so excited because I got some new toys in the mail the other day. All I could see on some of the challenges out there were daisies...because that is one of my new toys....woo hoo!! So this post, and my next post are both challenges using this daisy die cut from Stampin Up. Daisies are my favorite flower, so I honestly don't know what took me so long to get this die cut....Anyway, on to the card and the challenge. I am on a thank you card kick. A lady at work is retiring and LOVES when I give her a set of handmade cards as a gift, so what better retirement gift than a "TON' of thank you cards to use for all the gifts she's going to receive? I used Taylor's sketch for this card. I think it turned out fun and happy.
Below is the sketch I used. Thanks for some fun sketches Taylor.
Thanks for peeking in everyone. Hope your day is happy and full of fun.

Mojo Monday Madness

Okay, so I had fun with this sketch. I actually made two cards. This first one is the second card I made....and my favorite of the two. This photo is a close up of the cute little scalloped ruffle. It is so easy, and just so stinkin' cute....at least I think it is. You just use your scalloped edge punch, and then run it through the crimper....easy peasy....and so stinkin' cute. Here is the whole card. My daughter in law told me she needed some teacher appreciation cards this week for her kids teachers. Haylee is in kindergarten and I thought this would make a cute card for a kindergarten teacher....what do you think? So that is my first card for my mojo monday sketch....

This is the second card. If that were a Sprinkles cupcake....I would eat it right now!!!!! YUMMY!!!
My sister in laws birthday is on Friday....guess where this card is going??? Yep, straight to her house. I should include a dozen Sprinkles cupcakes with it huh??? I didn't like it as much after I made it. It was going to be so much cuter when the thought was in my head.....oh well.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. It is starting to warm up again her....it's a good thing we got our air conditioner fixed....Thanks for peeking in.

Graduation Time

Yes, graduations are upon us. I was just playing in my scrap room one night and this card is what emerged.
I had just purchased this cute paper at Michael's and wanted to use it. It is from We R Memories....cute stuff. I brought out a stampendous stamp I bought a long time ago and finally put it in some ink.
Since it's graduation time, I put a cute little hat on this smiley face.
Two days later, I found out we have a good friend graduating from college the end of this month....guess what card she's getting?? It's not her school colors, but I think she'll forgive me.
I thought this card went well with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch. If you haven't seen her sketches before you should check them out....they are fun.
Thanks for peeking in. Have a happy smiley face kind of day everyone.

A fun, fun project

I just have to share a fun project that I have made a few times. I should have taken pictures of the other one I made, because I liked that one much better....Oh well.
I got the instructions for making this on Becky Robert's blog...Inking Idaho...she is sooooo talented. She lovingly shared this template with us for free. She also designs and creates some other fabulous items that you can buy the templates for for super cheap....$3.95 is all. So, you need to check out her website, it's awesome!!!!

Anyway, this is what the front of it looks like. If you turn it around to the other side, it basically looks the same.

Then, when you open it up....this is what is inside. On both sides of the front and back are pockets that hold 4 cards. The inside pocket here, you can see holds the 4 envelopes for the cards. Then, on the other side is a pad of paper with a pen. In Becky's, she uses a different pad of paper, but everytime I went to WalMart to find it....sold out. So, I found these mini compostion books. I just covered them with DSP and it works too. I have velcro on the back so it can be removed for easier writing.

These are the 4 cards that I made to go with it. I should have taken a picture with the insert of the card out. The actual card lifts out. It is a pocket card.....super easy to make too......love that!!!

This is a really bad photo of it all together....Someday I will conquer the world of photography, but until then....bear with me.
You really do need to check out Becky's blog and make one of these for yourself. They make great gifts. I made one for a door prize for a meeting, and then this one I made and gave to my Stampin Up "MOM" for Mother's Day.
I used Raspberry Tart DSP and Cameo Coral cardstock to make mine....have a great day everyone.
Thanks for peeking in.

Fabulous Friend

The Color Throwdown Challenge this week was to use the above colors. I love these colors, but for some reason struggled to put them together in a card I liked....ughhhh.
I decided to just make a small little 4 x 3 notecard with this challenge. Sometimes all you need is a little note to throw in with a gift. Here is what a came up with~I whipped this card together in like 10 minutes.

I still need to work on better lighting. It is overcast here today, so the sun wasn't helping me out at all today.
Have a wonderful day everyone. Thanks for peeking in.

Thoughts and Prayers

Okay, so I posted this backwards....I don't have time to go back and fix it, so I'm just leaving it....you'll get the idea of the card anyway.... The above photo is the sketch we were to use over at the OCC blog. The below photo is of the inside of the card.
This is what I ended up with for my sketch. My brother in laws father died on Friday, so I needed to throw together a card for him. I thought it would work perfectly for this challenge.

Thanks for peeking in. I hope you are having a wonderful day!!!!

Thank you very much

I absolutely love this scrappin kit (summer home)from stampin up...and am so sad that it is retired. If I would have realized how much I was going to miss it, I would have ordered a ton of it.....oh well....no sense crying over spilled milk right??? Below is the sketch we were to use...thanks Jen for some fun challenges. If you haven't discovered her Saturday challenges yet, you should check them out. They are lots of fun and she is very creative.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today. Thanks for peeking in.

Dawn McVey's color challenge #5

What a beautiful picture we got to use for inspiration.
Unfortunately I don't have the exact PaperTrey Ink colors, so I improvised.
I used some KI Memories lace cardstock on this card. This picture is a close up of the awesomely detailed cardstock. I have been saving it.....for what I dont' know....do you ever do that???
Anyway, I decided to break it out and use it on this card.
The lighting wasn't the best for taking this picture so it isn't the best picture, but you get the idea. Another simple and easy card from me. It was fun to do. Thanks Dawn for such fun color challenges.

Have a great day everyone. Thanks for peeking in.

Challenge #51 for KWerner

Yay, I got to play with paper again today. I wanted to play along with Kristina Werner's challenge again this week. I missed it last week and it was her big 5-0!! So sad, anyway....I saw a card similar to this one in the Stampin Success magazine that Stampin Up demonstrators get once a month....one of the reasons I signed up to be a demonstrator I might add. I immediately thought that this would work perfectly for this challenge.
This was my take on the challenge....I have to say a lot of the times I'm not too happy with my cards. I feel like they could use a little something, but not this one. I LOVE how this card turned out. Anyway....
I hope you are all having a great day, and get a little time to play yourself.
Thanks for peeking in.....Until next time.....
