The cutest little two tags die box....

I love it when I step out of my "typical" cyber surfing, and discover new destinations. I happened upon this fun new video "playplace".... unfortunately if you're not a Stampin Up demonstrator you can't get there. It is on the Stampin Connection website under videos....(never knew it was there)...this is a perk of being a demonstrator. Anyway, this adorable box was a tutorial from Dawn Olchefske. I had to make one right away and then, of course, share with you all. edited to add: guess what???? you can view this video on you tube....yippee!! Just type in two tags die in the search and viola, there it is. Happy creating people. I told you it was cute!!!
I had to use some retiring DSP and Brocade Blue which is also retiring after tomorrow.

Here is a peek at the inside....needs some chocolate huh??? {{giggle}}
I hope you liked it as much as I did. If anyone is interested in the details and doesn't have access to Stampin Connection, email me and I will add it to the blog later. It was really easy to make.
Thanks for peeking in today.
Make your day a good one, and smile. It makes people wonder what you've been up to!

Things I used to make this:
Two tag die, Build a brad, Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Pawsitively Prints DSP, Boho Blossoms punch, Borcade Blue and Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip and the 1/2" circle punch.

Obviously, because of the colors and the Watercolor Trio stamp set use again, I made this the same time I made the other previously posted cards. I really like the layout and simplicity of this card. I think I will make these for swaps too, only change out the colors and use a different stamp set. This was a quick and simple card to throw together.....perfect for convention swaps.
I've been soooo busy lately getting ready for my Open House on the 10th. It will be fun.
Thanks for peeking in today.
Hope your Monday is a happy one.

Hello....

I love the colors Black and White together.
While this doesn't appear to have any new items from the catalog on it, it actually does. That red scallop stamp is from the new catalog. I used the stamp set 3 little words for the flowers. I don't use that stamp set enough. It really has a lot of versatility. Anyway, I'm glad to have Riding Hood Red back. I do wish that DSP was back though.
Hope you are having a happy day.
Thanks for peeking in.

I know ... I know...

I know it looks like I only have these few colors and only the Watercolor Trio stamp set lately. BUT, I was making these at the same time and just used what I had out. I was looking more for a look and layout, than what colors or stamp set I would use. Does that even make any sense???? Anyway, this is another possible card for convention. I love that embossing folder, and soooo happy that Wild Wasabi and Riding Hood Red are back....yippee!!!
Alright, well I'm off to play somemore. Who knows what will brew in my craft room...it looks like a bomb went off in there right now....maybe I should clean off my desk first, then create......nope....maybe another day.
Have a happy day.
Thanks for peeking in today.

Another convention swap....

I was playing around yesterday on the demonstrator section of Stampin Up's website, because a good friend of mine signed up to be a Stampin Up demonstrator yesterday, and I wanted to make sure I could give her enough information to get her started. While I was playing I came across a great video tutorial....for demonstrators only....on using the new Itty Bitty stamp set, buttons, and punch set to coordinate. They demonstrated this card, but as a 3" x 3" card. I liked it so much, that I made it into a full sized card and just changed the colors using the new In Colors. I thought it would make a good convention swap. Here is a close up of the darling embellishments made with the new Itty Bitty supplies. It also uses the Flower Fusion die cut. And here is the full card. I also used the new lattice embossing folder from the Summer Mini catalog, which also happens to make it to the new catalog for July....yippee!!! The ribbon I used is new ribbon from the catalog as well. I really like the new In Colors this year, especially the Pear Pizzazz.
Thanks for peeking in today. I hope you're getting some fun time with you Stampin Up supplies!!!
Have a wonderful day.

Possible convention swaps....

Why do I let little things like convention swaps stress me out so much???? Stupid, stupid, stupid. Everyone says you need "lots" of swaps at convention, the more you have, the more you come home with. Makes sense. My problem, is I want to get a jump start on them, and am limited to what I can do, because you can only use new items.....well, unless you didn't notice, just about all the ribbon in the old catalog is being retired....puts me in quite a dilemna since I am a big ribbon user. Not to mention all the DSP is being retired as well. So, I have been playing with paper to come up with some ideas.
This, I think, will definetly be "one" of my cards. I was actually happy with this one.
I have a few more I came up with and will post them later.
What do you think? Should I use it?
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day today.

Mojo Monday 144

Wow, I haven't participated in Mojo Monday in I don't know how long. Now that I'm off for the summer, I just might jump in now and then. I figured since I have all these new toys to play with I might as well this week.
Here is what I came up from the above sketch.
I just used some of the new DSP from Stampin Up that will be available in July.
I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but I sprayed it with some Vanilla Smooch Spray. It gives it a little bit of shimmer. It looks so much better in person.
Anyway, thanks for peeking in.
Have a happy day.

June's stamp club

These are just two of the cards we made at June's stamp club. Holly had requested a one layer card....I'm not too good at coming up with those...so I went to Stampin Connection. Stampin Connection is a place for Stampin Up Demonstrators only to go and get some inspiration and ideas. Luckily someone had posted this one layer card, and I thought it would work for our class. Then, because I like layers, I decided we could make another one similar only "stepped" up a little from the original. This is what evolved. Here is a close up of the one layer card. It's actually kinda nice to make a quick and simple card for a change. It doesn't require extra postage....that's a plus. We used the Watercolor Trio stamp set. That stamp set has so many different possiblities. We sponged some Bashful Blue using the Top Note die template. We just used the negative piece that's leftover after you cut it out.
Then we took the Top Note die that was cut out and used it for our "stepped" up card. Once again, we used the Watercolor Trio stamp set. We inked it up with markers and stamped it and then stamped off two more times. "Stamping off is just restamping without reinking" We added a bow, some pearls, and punched our sentiment and used dimensionals to attach it.
It was kind of fun to make the same card "twice"....only different each time.
We also made the Lego card that I posted earlier.
I'm kind of sad to have it be the end of stamp club. Then again, I'm excited to start all over again in August with some of the same people and some new faces. July will be my Stampin Up New Catalog Extravaganza. That should be lots of fun playing with so many new toys from the new catalog.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day.

More sneak peeks.....

I got to sit down and play with some of my new "toys" again this morning. It sure was fun. The new things I used on this card was the DSP, Pear Pizzaz and Marina Mist cardstock, and that little 1/8" ribbon in Marina Mist tied in with that white satin ribbon.
The picture above is a little blurry, but you can see the love I gave to the inside of that card.

The card below is very similar to the one I posted yesterday, I just used different colors and a new stamp set. I used the new In Colors Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, and Poppy Parade.
The stamp set that I used was one of the new Level 2 stamp sets called Apple Blossoms. The little tag on the bottom is stamped in Poppy Parade and layered on Marina Mist. This is the same layout of a card that I made earlier, I just used the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder for the background. It's really hard to see the colors in this picture, but you get the idea of the embossing folder.
Thanks for peeking in,
Have a great day.

A sneak peek....

Even though I really needed to work on those graduation cards I posted earlier. I just had to play with some of my new toys last night too. This card uses the wonderfully returning Wild Wasabi as the base of the card. How pretty is that DSP on the card? I love it. I used a new stamp set with the new Daffodil Delight stamp pad. I layered it on some new Peach Parfait....love that new in color. The ribbon is some old Wild Wasabi ribbon left over from when it was an In Color. This card just uses some of the new colors coming in July. The blue is Marina Mist, the green is Old Olive, and the red is that wonderful Cherry Cobbler. These colors look so much more amazing in real life.

More Marina Mist.
This was an easy and simple layout. I used craft white ink, and heat embossing with some white embossing powder. Then I just rubbed some of the craft white ink with a sponge in the middle of the flowers. I think it's a pretty effect.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a wonderful day today.

It's also graduation time.....

So you're going to get the backwards view of how I should have done this. Sorry, it's early in the morning for me right now.
Anyway, I have been asked to make some graduation cards for some students where I work. This is the love I gave to the inside of the card. Here is a closer look at the front of the card.
And this is the pile of them all together. The red hats are for the girls, and the black hats are for the guys.

I can hardly believe that school is almost over....but boy am I GLAD it is. I need a vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's wedding season....

A friend at work asked me to make her a wedding card. It is a lot like the other one I made earlier. I actually made this one first, but forgot to post this one. In the picture below you can see the wedding invitation. I just took the colors from the flowers on the bottom of the invitation for my inspiration. I was happy with the card, and she was thrilled. I used Not Quite Navy as the base, and then some Soft Sky....boy I was glad I still had some of that and some of the DSP too....Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss.
Thanks for peeking in. Have a wonderful day.

1 simple and 1 fancy...

I have been so busy lately making 30 baby shower invitations for a friend, that I haven't had the chance to just play lately. Well, last night I finally changed that and played. I had seen this cute little flower on someone else's blog and she gave a great tutorial on how to make it...now I don't remember where it was. I will go back and find it and give you the link, because this flower is too cute and too easy to make.(Edited to add: I found the link for these adorable flowers. Click here to go to the website.) I wanted the center of attention to be on the flower, so I kept the card very simple. I really like it. Then this card I made for a friend at work whose good friend just got engaged. She asked me to make her a pink and black congratulations card. This is what I came up with.

I think I just might spritz it with some vanilla spooch spray.
Thanks for peeking in.
Have a great day.
